Ancestral Legacy of Art and Healing

Kamentsa Yentsang, Kamentsa Biyang: “Women and Men from here with their own thought and language” The Kamentsa people live in Sibundoy Valley, a geographical area located between the Amazon jungle and the Andes mountains (Amazon foothills), better known as the Upper Putumayo. The native people of the Colombian Amazon have sustained their culture, language and medicine, art and culture in the midst of colonization, that continues to seek ways to change their origin.

Ayahuasca in the Modern World

Ayahuasca is a doorway to health and the sacred that can connect us to the source of life which lives within us and all things. It paves a way forward to health and beauty by helping us to awaken our personal and collective potential that has always existed within us.

Our current system of living, the modern world, has become unhealthy for many, creating unbalance in our body mind and spirit. Our society has the tendency to separate/disconnect us from the power that lives in nature and within us. This has brought depression, anxiety, confusion and illness into many of our lives.

Plant Spirits or Master Plants, like Ayahuasca, are here to support the openness and evolution of our human consciousness, for humanity to heal and thrive. The traditional indigenous ways hold this knowledge with a deep respect and understanding that can activate the healing potential of these plant spirits.

This deep respect and understanding has been developed within the Kamëntšá community of the Colombian Amazon for thousands of years. Their ancestral tradition of working with sacred plants, with the sole purpose/intention of healing the body, mind and spirit has been preserved.

In this webinar, Taita Juan Bautista will share his understanding of this ancestral healing tradition that he has gained through his Kamentsa family lineage and more than 40 years experience working with the sacred drink of Yage/ Ayahuasca in the ancestral ceremony.
